The 'COSMOS' model; an Event Generation System for Synthesizing Emergent Sonic Structures

چکیده

The ‘Cosmos’ model and its application is a dynamic event distribution system, which generates and organizes sonic entities evolving on multiple time scales. Inspired by the stochastic event generation models that were developed by Iannis Xenakis, the Cosmos model proposes additional important aspects such as the self-similarity in the structure and emergent behaviour in the resulting sonic evolution, while preserving structural simplicity. The model will be presented along with an introduction to the Max/MSP realization of Cosmos.
